Patience: Trusting the Process

"Patience is not the ability to wait, but the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting."

Recovery doesn't happen overnight. It's a gradual process that requires patience—with ourselves, with our progress, and with the journey itself. Many of us want immediate results, but lasting change takes time.

Today's Reflection

Patience means trusting that even when we can't see progress, growth is happening beneath the surface. Just as a seed germinates underground before breaking through the soil, our healing work is often invisible before it becomes apparent.

When we lose patience with our recovery, we risk giving up too soon or pushing ourselves too hard. Both extremes can derail our progress. Instead, we practice steady commitment—showing up each day, doing the work, and trusting that time and consistency will yield results.

Today, be patient with yourself. You're exactly where you need to be. Every day of sobriety is building a foundation for the life you want to live. Trust the process.

Today's Practice

Today, when I feel impatient with my progress, I will pause and remind myself: "I am growing, even when I can't see it. I will trust the process and keep moving forward."
